3D Coupled Pizeo Acoustic Transient Analysis

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I'm trying to run a 3D transient simulation where I couple a piezoelectric substrate to a fluid medium on top to analyze the acoustic wave propagation. I’ve used the piezo-acoustic transducer 2D model (1477) as a reference and can simulate the displacement of the piezo-substrate but I’m not sure how to couple the acceleration across the boundary. In the 2D model this is accomplished by using the w_tt variable(the second order time derivative of the structural displacement). Unfortunately I can’t find an equivalent factor to use for the piezo solid, I could write my own derivative to calculate the acceleration but I’m not sure how to code this in comsol.
Anybody got any suggestions?

Thanks,

Stuart
