Going with the Flow to Optimize Fluid Sensors

Endress+Hauser specializes in instrumentation development and produces a variety of measurement devices and sensors. One of their specialties is flow meters, devices that monitor and sense the characteristics and properties of fluids. The accuracy of these sensors must be consistently maintained and improved, and multiphysics simulation is a primary tool in doing so. Using multiphysics simulation, the engineers at Endress+Hauser analyzed the effects of fluid viscosity on vibration frequencies and estimated the effects of flow-induced noise. These analyses allowed them to adapt flow meters to a wide range of applications and even interchange fluid types while maintaining the desired sensitivity.
