We demonstrate a simple example about how to design my own algorithm for Navier-Stokes equation by weak form PDE and LiveLink™ for MATLAB®. After the computation, we get the same solution as other FEM packages (FreeFEM++ & FeniCs) at each iterative step, and we can see the Navier-Stokes equation’s solution at error between each step. This attempt gives algorithm researchers a hint or a ...

Abstract: Due to the restriction of the number of probes that a patient can tolerate, and the inaccurate information provided by the invasive temperature measurements, which provide information only at discrete points, a mathematical model simulation is more effective to help doctors in planning their thermal treatment doses. This will maximize therapeutic effects while minimizing side effects. ...

Organogenesis is a tightly regulated process that has been studied experimentally for decades. We are developing mechanistic models for the morphogenesis of limbs, lungs, and kidneys with a view to integrate available knowledge and to better understand the underlying regulatory logic. Organ size changes dramatically during development, and tissues are composed of several layers that may expand ...

This work focuses on the numerical analysis conducted on the prototype sensor for the measurement of highly concentrated radiative heat fluxes, based on an inverse heat transfer method, realized at the ENEA Portici Research Center in collaboration with the DETEC department of the University of Naples Federico II. The estimates of highly concentrated radiative heat fluxes on the target surface of ...

The detection, characterization, and classification of underground environmental hazardous objects [mines, IEDs, and other unexploded military hardware] is a worldwide problem that needs urgent attention and solution. While electromagnetic sensor technologies have been applied to identify these hazards, increasingly low dielectric contrast between newer, sophisticated landmines, and complex ...

We report an implementation of parallel computing on Amazon Web Services™ (AWS) for touch-sensor modeling. COMSOL Multiphysics® was used to simulate an electromagnetic field distribution in a capacitive sensor assembly. Multiple COMSOL jobs were deployed on separate AWS instances and were executed in parallel. The simulation results indicate that implementation of parallel computing for COMSOL ...

Aim of the study is to determine the influence of some of the most important operating variables, especially humidity and temperature, of drying air on the performance of cooking process of pork meat. The process is simulated using finite elements software COMSOL Multiphysics®. The proposed model considers two geometries: cylindrical and parallelepiped, with fixed physical properties and ...

Arterial disease, especially Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is one of the leading causes of premature morbidity and mortality. During the flow, blood interacts with vessel wall mechanically and chemically which modulates the plaque formation in blood vessel leading to coronary artery diseases. Here we propose to simulate a MEMS based flexible flow sensor based on anemometer principle designed to ...

While the processes taking place in a bubble reactor are simple to describe in a few sentences it is much more difficult to give a physical description that is useful for engineering purposes. A better understanding of a cluster of bubbles dissolving in a liquid where the species transferred reacts with other dissolved species is an interesting engineering challenge that could result in ...

This paper presents the electromagnetic analysis of an all-superconducting synchronous electric machine, focusing on AC loss calculations in high temperature superconducting (HTS) coils. The numerical analyses of two 3D models are shown, including the model of the machine and its HTS stator coils. The models use the H-formulation based on a B-dependent critical current density and a bulk ...
