New to COMSOL, been told to calculate the effective material properties and linear buckling

The purpose of this is to get me familizarized with comsol. The person told me there are applications in comsol; while I think I managed to find an application to have me learn a little bit about linear buckling (Linear Buckling Analysis of a Truss Tower), I cannot find any relevant application on how to calculate the effective material properties? - could someone please point me in the right direction
