In session 2 of this continuing acoustics lecture series, we will work through the modeling steps and usage of the COMSOL® software for acoustics and vibrations analysis with the Acoustics Module. This lecture series builds upon the previously presented session and continues to look into topics relevant for pressure acoustics modeling. The emphasis of this lecture series session will be on setting up perfectly matched layers for open space simulation, using background pressure fields for scattered field analyses, and modeling pressure acoustics using the boundary element method.
The series of 3 1-hour parts will start on Monday, July 20 at 11 a.m. EDT and run through Friday, July 24, at the same time every other day.

Jinlan Huang is an applications engineer for vibrations and acoustics and instructs acoustics and heat transfer training courses. She received her PhD from Boston University, Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, investigating acoustic wave propagation in complex-tissue environments and ultrasound-induced tissue heating and bleeding control. She joined COMSOL in 2011.
