Introduction to COMSOL Multiphysics for new users Minicourse

Get to know the fundamental workflow of the COMSOL Multiphysics® modeling environment and its built-in Application Builder. We will cover all of the key modeling steps, including geometry creation, setting up physics, meshing, solving, and postprocessing. We will conclude the session by building an application.

News and Best Practices for COMSOL Multiphysics® Users Minicourse

Current COMSOL® software users are invited to experience the latest version of COMSOL Multiphysics® and COMSOL Server™. Get an overview of the many core functionality updates and improvements to the different add-on modules. Our focus will be on best pratices during all modeling steps.

You will also learn how to make multiphysics simulation accessible by a larger audience, including those who are not experts in simulation. Together with our invited speakers, we will initiate a discussion on how to apply simulation in both development and teaching.

Meshing Minicourse

Learn about the meshing techniques that are available to you in the COMSOL Multiphysics® software. We will introduce you to basic meshing concepts, such as how to tweak the meshing parameters for unstructured meshes. More advanced topics include working with swept meshes and creating mesh plots.

Electromagnetics Minicourse

Get a brief overview of the electromagnetic modeling tools of COMSOL Multiphysics® with a focus on the AC/DC Module, RF Module, Wave Optics Module, and Ray Optics Module.

CFD and Heat Transfer Minicourse

Get a quick overview of using the CFD Module and Heat Transfer Module within the COMSOL® software environment.

Chemical Engineering Minicourse

Explore the capabilities of COMSOL Multiphysics® for modeling chemical engineering and electrochemical processes (corrosion, electrodeposition, and batteries and fuel cells). We will cover coupling to other physics such as fluid flow, heat transfer, and other effects in order to set up and use a high-fidelity virtual lab.

Structural Mechanics Minicourse
Optimization Minicourse

Learn to use gradient-based optimization techniques and constraint equations to define and solve problems in shape, parameter, and topology optimization, as well as inverse modeling. The techniques shown are applicable for almost all types of models.
